Lawrence Locomotive June 3, 1937 -- MRS JOHN REINING DIES AFTER LONG
ILLNESS

Mrs. John Reining passed away at her home southwest of Lawrence
Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock after an illness of nine months.
Last year April 15, she was operated on but never entirely recovered
her health.

Mrs. Reining, nee Gertrude Blume, was born at Schnellville, Indiana
May 10, 1889. At the age of eleven years she came to Nebraska with her
parents Mr. and Mrs. August Blume.

She was united in marriage to John Reining, April 23, 1907. To this
union ten children were born, three of whom died in infancy.

Her death is mourned by her husband and seven children, Teresa,
Sophia, Leona, Norbert, Frances, Josephine, and Luella, her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. August Blume of Lawrence, four sisters, Mrs. John
Venhaus, a twin sister of Cambridge, Nebr., Mrs. Gerhart Reining and
Mrs. Tony Buschkoetter, both of Lawrence and Mrs. Leo Gabel of St.
Francis, Texas.

Also two brothers, Emil of Indianola, Nebr., and Theodore of Slayton,
Texas. A brother John of St. Francis, Texas preceeded her in death
thirteen years ago.

Burial took place in the Sacred Heart cemetery Saturday morning after
a Requiem Mass at nine o'clock, Father Becker conducting the last
rites.

Those present from out of town were Mrs. John Venhaus of Cambridge,
Nebr., Mr. and Mrs. Emil Blume of Indianola, Nebr., and Mrs. and Mrs.
Theodore Blume and two children of Slayton, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Leo
Gabel and two children had been here about a month ago and were unable
to be present for the funeral. (The History of the Reining Family
